It is a big day. Everyone gathers in the grass and sets up their chairs ready to see what is going to happen. Intensity rises as the grass is flooded with people. Both from home and away. Many people are anxious about how the day will go. They watch as the girls go out on the court to warm up and practice. They take deep breaths as they focus on what they have to do. This is not them just practicing. They are getting ready for a game of tennis.
There is a lot that is involved when it is time for a game of tennis. It takes a lot of concentration and dedication. Tennis is an extremely active sport. The girls run all around the court to make sure they keep their opponents from scoring points. According to Coach Danniella Banks, the girls have had an excellent season so far with many wins. However, she also mentions they have a conflict in tennis.
“The girls have done very well this season. We have won more matches this year than last year. There is a tough conflict when it comes to tennis as these teams are some of the best in the state” Banks said.
There are many factors that help the girls have a fun time during games or practices. Junior Abbie Bolton gives what her favorite parts of tennis are.
“My favorite part would have to be spending time with friends. It is a lot of fun spending time with the team on the bus and competing against other schools,” Bolton said.
With all the dedication it takes each player to contribute to the team each player has a different role in helping the team. Their work together helps them to play well and show what their team can do.
