The Mooresville Homecoming parade is a tradition that has been around for years and years and with that comes the process of float building. Every year each grade, Freshman-Senior, comes up with ideas based on the Homecoming theme and builds a float with aid from their class sponsor. The theme for this year is boardgames. This years schedule for building these floats is as follows.
Freshman:
- Monday, Sept. 11- 7:15-7:45 a.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 13- 3-6 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 15 3 p.m.-Finish
Schedule provided by Mr. Brewer. If Freshmen have any questions they can reach out to him through his school email ([email protected]). Freshmen are building at the Pioneer Practice Facility behind the high school.
Sophomores
- Friday, Sept. 8- 3-5 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 11- 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 12- 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 14- 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Friday-finishing touches and move float to high school
Sophomores can email Mr. Gillum at his school email ([email protected]) if they have any questions. Sophomores are building at a classmates house on Landersdale Road, please reach out to Mr. Gillum for the address.
Juniors:
- Thursday, Sept. 7- 3-5 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 8- 3-5 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 10- 1-3 p.m. (if needed)
- Monday, Sept. 11- 3-6 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 12- 3-6 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 13- 3-5 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 14- 3 p.m.-Finish
Juniors can also join the Junior float building Remind group by texting @f63g27 to 81010 and reach out to Tamara Mills with any questions. Juniors will be building in the old MHS Bus garage.
Seniors:
- Thursday, Sept. 7- 2:40-4:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 9- 2-4 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 10- Starting at 12 p.m. building however long they can
- Tuesday, Sept. 12- 3:45-5 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 14- 2:40-4:30 p.m.
