Sophomore Juan Hernandez-Gonzalez closes in on the final stretch of his relay. Hernandez-Gonzalez has been doing cross country for two years and this was his first year on varsity making it first ever relay. “It was fun,” Hernandez-Gonzalez said.
Coach Burke looks forward to the new season starting. The new runners show her a lot of promise, and a lot of ambition. “I can tell it’s going to be a great season!” Burke says.
The Cross Country team performed well at the Plainfield Relay and it’s looking hopeful for the rest of the season ahead.
Senior Magnus Thorstenson waits to begin his section of the relay. Thorstenson shouted encouragements at his relay partner. “I’m over here! I’m over here!” Thorstenson said.
Coach Burke discusses runner Kennedee Miles. Kennedee is going into her senior year. “She’s had some really great times. Miles is showing her teammate what strong leadership looks like in cross country. It’s looking to be her best season yet,” Burke said.
