Orchestra is a collection of different students from MHS all with different skills and knowledge about all sorts of activities. A major one of those skills would be their knowledge and skill when it comes to playing a stringed instrument, but also some students have some very good cooking and baking skills that they apply to Italian foods for Italian Fest.
“It’s honestly just a great time overall, lots of good food for sure,” senior Madison Peacock said.
Peacock has also recently just achieved gold placement in the ISSMA competition for orchestra and she, along with the two other students in the photo, junior Braden Daggy and Logan Belcher, will be going to the state finals for orchestra. Peacock has been doing orchestra since middle school and is also an esteemed member of it, being the first chair in her section, and also participating heavily and attending Italian Fest every year.
“The students all love it, I mean every year somebody brings something really good and enjoyable for everybody,” Schribeman, the orchestra director, said.
“Italian foods are the best, I look forward to this a lot every single year,” said junior Lucy Guy.
Guy has also been in the orchestra since she was in middle school and took her time in this performing arts group very seriously. Guy is also the first chair in her section for violin.
Overall, the Italian fest has been a yearly tradition and celebration of the Orchestra and Italy and Italy’s foods that nearly everybody enjoys.
