Being able to travel halfway across the world for a week is one that crosses many minds, but became a reality for Japanese students of Ota City High School. They were allowed to travel with the company Toa, to experience the American life. They had a pit stop at Mooresville High School, but soon will go to Boston and then Harvard following. Before coming to Mooresville, these students went and experienced life at Purdue University.
While at Mooresville, they shared snacks with their American peers to see the difference in snacks between different countries. Senior Brooke Wilson was one of the few students that participated in showing around the students from Ota City High School.
“I liked getting to know them and their culture. Their schools and lives are way different than ours,” Wilson said.
Another student that participated in the welcoming of these students was Senior Lyndsay Boswell. She spent fifth through sixth period getting to hangout. Most of the seniors that were present were just trustworthy seniors that are social and will easily start conversations. Boswell was incredibly excited about the students coming and had a sincere remark about them.
“They were very kind,” Boswell said.
