As summer approaches faculty members & students prepare themselves for the warm weather, clear skies, and exciting places to travel to. Some people have some amazing spots they’re planning to travel to. The Spanish class of MHS is taking a trip to Costa Rica this summer.
“It’s a really cool thing that the kids get to experience, we’ve learned about the Spanish culture so much in class and for them to finally experience it in person is a very cool thing for them,” MHS Spanish teacher Tamara Mills said.
Costa Rica is a country south of mainland Mexico and is a cultural hub where many tourists and cultures collide and exchange stories and good times.
Zack Allen is a Junior at MHS and has been in Spanish for three years of high school including this year.
“I’m so excited to go across the world,” Zack Allen said.
On the other hand, there is plenty of things to do around Indiana for students and faculty staying home for this summer. For example, many events are being hosted around different places in downtown Indianapolis.
Such as summer league basketball games at Gainbridge field house, along with concerts being hosted there, and there are plenty of other fun places to go around Indiana.
Also, there’s places such as the Indiana Dunes, Indiana beach, Holiday World, summer baseball games at Victory Field, and other tourist attractions around Indiana.
There are also plenty of students planning on going to concerts at Ruoff Music Center this summer and that alone still offers a good time to these students, who don’t believe you need to go to some other state or country to have a good summer vacation.
Overall, the summer of 2024 has many exciting events happening and has many adventures in the future for students and faculty alike.
