Getting in the top 20 is a extraordinary accomplishment in high school. When people get in the top 20 it means they have one of the highest GPA’s in their grade. Every year the seniors who made the top 20 get their picture taken together. It is a great way to show who has the highest GPA. The senior class’ top 20 are extremely proud about this accomplishment.

“I’m super proud of them and really excited for them on making this achievement,” Administrative Assistant Lori Smith said.

There is even a banquet for the top 20. In addition to eating a bunch of good food, they also get to invite a teacher of their choice to go with them. At the banquet they get to give a speech on how they feel about making it into the top 20. Evidently, lots of the seniors are excited for the banquet.

“I’m excited for the banquet because you get to give a speech about being in the top 20 and you get to invite a high school and middle school teacher of your choice,” senior Sinna Zheng said.

When people are in the top 20 that means that they have to work really hard to keep their grades up and get the position they have. Usually the top 20 have all A’s with maybe one B. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to earn this accomplishment.

“I think it is not about the tough or advanced classes, but more about focusing on getting good grades throughout all your classes,” senior Adilynn Breedlove said.

It is an exciting time for everyone who makes it in The Top 20 since they have so much to be proud of for making this achievement.
