It is so important to recognize and honor the people who have dedicated years to training and fighting for this country. Those who have sacrificed their lives and time should be heavily honored. There are many branches behind being in the military and each individual should be recognised. Mooresville High School has introduced a new salient wall for remembering the people who fought in the Mooresville community.
Principal Mr. Wes Upton started the concept. MHS teacher Mr. Tudor, has painted the wall so far with exquisite detail. The idea is ongoing and not completely constructed as it has some work to do. The process will consist of collecting alumni information on those who have served, gradually adding their names to the wall. The painting starts near the corner by the library with a flag waving and different seals on different parts of the military.
Many of the staff are military families and have either had someone previously been or currently enlisted. Mr. Tudor took on the task of painting the wall for personal reasons. Firstly, he is a great artist, and secondly he has connections to family members who have served. Their main objective is to honor the lives sacrificed and people who have given up time with their loved ones and normal routine activities. Although not much can be done from the outside, people can still show support by stopping by to take in consideration of all the people on the wall.
Different military stats means a different symbol used. There will be a star with each person’s name on it. For those who served and came back they would receive a yellow star. In contrast, the ones who served and passed during their service will receive a gold star. All in all, they will be remembered and recognized for all they have contributed.
The Military Wall was something that MHS uniquely designed to show recognition for their sacrifices and service. Veterans who served from Mooresville will be remembered greatly amongst their people.
