Each year, towards the end of school, the AP classes prep for the AP exams. Teachers will help their students get prepared by giving them a few weeks of practice questions and a chance to ask as many questions as they need. This is a run down of ways to prepare for AP exam week.
1. Study hard
Just like any test, studying is essential for a good performance. Teachers will give practice time in class, but it is important for students to study on their own time to make sure they are confident in their own performance. Teachers might make some videos of them explaining some practice problems for students to understand. Students can even make flashcards as a memorization technique. There have been many students who have taken many AP classes in high school such as senior Grace Linville. She has been in AP music theory, AP calculus, AP chemistry, AP World, AP precalculus, and AP psych. She gives her take on why studying hard is important for exam week.
“I think sinking into the materials and reviews that the teachers provide is the most important piece, and it really is a full year process. Being present in the class and trying all year is the biggest help,” Linville said.
2. Get plenty of sleep
In order to function properly, getting plenty of rest is essential. If students do not get the full rest that they need it can hinder their ability to perform well during a test. There have been many studies that have shown the effects that a lack of sleep can have on a student’s brain.

3. Stay focused
The AP exams include material that was taught in the beginning of the year as well. It is important to stay focused throughout the enite school year to remember the material that was taught in the first months. That is why it is important to stay focused whenever it is review time
“It’s important to stay focused at the beginning of the year because it will help you to do better on your AP exam later in the year,” junior Ethan Morris said.
Prepping for the AP exams can be a challenging process, but there are many ways that can help prepare students to perform well on these exams. If they focus well and study hard, it can pay off in helping them to perform well
