Water guns, goggles, and floaties… Those items are needed in a Senior Splashin game. A game of trying to eliminate your target without getting caught by other people, specifically who students are trying to eliminate.
Around 108 seniors were playing this game at the start and it has dropped drastically. The bulk of them got out during the purge. Thats a part of the game where players can’t use goggles or floaties for immunity, and any student can eliminate anyone.
Senior Mayci Galyan eliminated her target on the first week to stay in the game.
“A lot of preparation goes into eliminating your target because you have to figure out multiple things about them. Like when they get off work and how much time they spend outside of their house,” Galyan said.
Galyan waited three hours outside of an apartment complex waiting for her target to leave her co-workers house. Their could be a lot of waiting when you go to eliminate your target or theirs the off-chance it’s immediate.
During the game there is an admin who can control a lot of the game, such as, placing a bounty on one player (bounties mean that any person can eliminate that target for 24 hours) and placing powerups around the map (powerups can give you immunity or make you vanish to help you get your target).
Senior Sullivan Zollman is the admin for this years game. He shows multiple different aspects when playing this game.
“When I think about placing powerups I’m going to place them in multiple areas because of where all the kids live and what their schedule looks like,” Zollman said.
“I also can gauge eliminations based on how they portray the setup. If their is a legit problem I will ask both sides and any witnesses for the information on the elimination,” Zollman said.
Sullivan does basically everything for the game, he shows amazing leadership skills when he de-escalate situations that happen about elimiations, or if it comes to something legality wise.
Officer Richart is one of the police officers at mooresville high school. He along with police officers around the state continue their duties making sure everyone is safe. This game is made to have fun but sometimes people get carried away. Luckily all officers are ready to help if anything is needed.
Wes Upton, the principal of Mooresville High School set certain boundaries on the game, such as blocking all school zones because it’s not the right place to have water gun fights.
Senior Splashin is all around a fun game for everyone to play. The winner of the entire thing gets to keep the entire prize pool. The prize pool right now is above $500.
Good luck to all seniors and make sure to “splash” your way to victory.
