The volleyball teams have had an amazing run this season. They have had an unmatched season beating many schools such as: Arsenal Technical High School, Martinsville, Decatur Central and many more.
This year, the team has done really well, winning many of the games that they have played. To view their scores click here to go to the Mooresville Athletic department website. According to senior, and Captain of the volleyball team, Ty Stonehouse, the team had a lot of chemistry this year that has helped them to have a great season. In fact, this is the volleyball team’s best season in the history of Mooresville High School. Stonehouse shares what he thinks has helped them this year.
“The team hangs out a lot outside of school even meeting up to play volleyball. This helps us to feel like a family,” Stonehouse said.
The girl’s volleyball season was during the first half of the school year. They also had a good run during their season, just as good as the boys. Each player learned something new whenever they played a game or had practices. There were many techniques that they would work on to improve such as passing the ball. The coaches play another big part of helping the team play well. They help each of the players improve their performance overall. Sophomore Meadow Morancey gives her opinion on the coaches and what the team was like during the year.
“We learned a lot this year from our coaches and built a great bond with the team overall,” Morancey said.
The team’s bond is a big part of what helped the girl’s team play so well and is helping the boy’s team play really well too. This has even helped improve the team’s performance making them number one in the state.
