In the next couple of years, some of the teachers have summer trips and even a spring break trip planned. Spanish teacher Tamara Mills has trips planned for Spain, Guatemala islands, and Costa Rica. Art teacher Allyson Avery has trips planned for Japan and Ireland.
Mills has gone on many trips in the past, and this summer from June 4-16, she is taking some of the students on a trip to Spain. She has taken students to Costa Rica a few times in the past, and is excited to travel to Spain this year. She has even talked about how she fell in love with Spain when she was in high school. She is excited about seeing some of the oldest structures there, such as a 600 year old bridge, and a building that was built in the 1100s.
“I hope the kids have an appreciation from where our country began with Spain. I hope the kids can see how different cultures in a country can get along, and give them a different perspective of the world. It will be amazing to see the awe in the kids eyes when we see some of the attractions that Spain has to offer,” Mills said.
It’s not just the teachers that are excited to travel to another country. Many of the students are excited about it to experience the different environments, atmospheres, and the way that other cultures go about their day to day lives. Avery is taking a trip to Japan over spring break in 2028, and freshman Makayla Stultz is super excited about going.
“I’m really excited about seeing the different cultures in Japan. I would say I’m most excited to see Fiji mountain because of how beautiful it looks,” Stultz said.
Besides just Mills being excited for the Spain trip this summer, many students who are going on this trip just as much excitement. Junior Natalie Davis is excited about traveling on the plane and a train during the trip with her friends and even her mom. There are lots of parts to be excited about, but Davis is really looking forward to the layout that Spain would have to offer.
“My mom is coming with us too, so that is exciting for me. I’m really looking forward to the architectural structure that Spain has to offer since we are going into some of the oldest buildings,” Davis said.
Teachers planning these summer trips for students to participate in is a good way to have the students explore different parts of the world. They get to see what different cultures are like and how other countries live their day to day lives. It is good for students to experience these other cultures to see the many different parts of the world. This can also help kids to learn some history about the world that they may not have known before.
