Swing and a miss. Mooresville’s pitcher senior Aubrey Todd has thrown 26 strikeouts so far this season. Feeling good about what could come out of the rest of the season.
“I’ve felt very comfortable with the defense behind me so I feel comfortable on the mound. As long as we play as a team I think the rest of the season could go very well” Todd said.
With 11 games left in the season softball continues playing their best to come out with more wins. The team shows various different aspects of leadership especially coming from the seniors.
Senior Lexi Turner takes her spot on the team as a leader. Turner wants to make the best of her senior season and would like to be close with her entire team.
“With my leadership role I’ve kinda filled the support person role. If anyone needs anything overall or just has a question they come to me. I try my best to answer all the questions and if i can’t I find someone who can,” Turner said.
The overall moral of the team has varied throughout this season but staying high mostly. The girls keep pushing through the game even after they get tired and all their hard work will pay off soon enough.
Junior Pailyn Blair might have a way for the team to keep the moral even higher during the games.
“Keep cheering people on, whatever you can do, chants, highfives, overall just pushing eachother,” Blair said.
Blair tries her best to keep the team at their best and keep them moving.
Mooresville’s coach Kelsey Wooten is still confident based on how much their team has improved. With the fact that they’re a very young team improvement is something that’s needed.
“Our focus is staying positive, improving every week, and finishing the season strong. I’m lucky to to coach a great group of young women and I’m confident we’re moving in the right direction.
With 11 games left of their season, let’s see what mooresville softball is made of.
