Music booming, high energy and overall excited spirits is what summer brings. With summer quickly approaching, summer plans also begin to set in. Some Mooresville students will decide to get summer jobs, while others decide to take it chill and just enjoy their summer to its fullest. One summer activity that many enjoy is cruising through back roads with the windows down, wind blowing through the hair, and music blasting as loud as possible.

Some of the trending songs of 2024 are becoming apparent and expected to be songs to listen to for summer. According to Billboard, the top 20 songs for the week of April 21 to April 27 is as follows.

Sophomore Teagan McGinley describes her music taste as everything except country music, so when it comes to summer music there is a vast list of what she will listen to. She has the self proclaimed best music taste in the world. She blasts music in many places, fairs, in her room and in the car.

“We have a jeep and go doors off, top off, music blasting, with the windows down,” McGinley said.

English Teacher Amanda Scamacca tends to listen to music to a variety of music. From alternative folk, to alternative rock, to oldies, all the way to musical soundtracks. Along with music, Scamacca also tends to go to concerts and gets to enjoy a lot of her favorite artists.

“I listen to these songs in the car or mowing the lawn,” Scamacca said.

Junior Kylie Keller is a huge fan of listening to music with friends, especially in the car. She describes her music taste as a broad spectrum.
