The choir department gets incredibly busy around Christmas time. With only a few weeks left of the first semester they have a lot planned. Madrigal dinner is a big event that takes a lot of time to prepare for, but even with that, there are many other things they do. Madrigals and Finesse both go caroling but at different places.

The Madrigals have a few different places that they will carol at. They carol at Victorian Christmas, then they take a couple of days to carol around the school for different classrooms. Finally, they will go carol at Kroger, on the last day of school before Christmas break, to raise money for the Salvation Army Bell. “Caroling helps to spread cheer to everyone who needs it. We even had someone join in with us last year when we were caroling at Kroger,” senior John Childress said.

Whereas Finesse’s caroling is a little different. They carol at two different nursing homes, Meadow Lakes, and Worthington. This is another amazing way to spread cheer during the holiday season. It can give the elderly people something to look forward to during this time of year.

“It is such a big blessing to to be able to sing for the nursing homes and try to bring them some joy during the holidays,” senior Stephanie Esqueda said.

Caroling is shown to be an uplifting part during the Christmas season. Many people seem to enjoy it and love having groups of people carol for them. Doing this for the community is a very kind gesture that anyone can do.
