Thanksgiving break is approaching for schools and that means that the Thanksgiving planning is taking place. From going to the store to buy all the food to inviting friends and family over there are many different traditions families have for this special day. However, instead of hosting Thanksgiving at their house, some families travel to another state to have Thanksgiving with family who live far away.

“I have family that lives out of state and this year I’m traveling with my day to go have Thanksgiving with them,” senior Serenity Smith said.

Thanksgiving consists of many different traditions. One of the biggest ones, however, is the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade. This year will be the 99th annual parade. Many people gather in person or around their TV’s to watch what the parade has in-store. It is one of Thanksgiving’s most popular traditions that many people look forward to.

“My family and I absolutely love watching the parade every year,” sophomore Khole Goode said.

Thanksgiving is a big time of the year. Since it is close to Christmas time it is one holiday after the other which can make it stressful. In the end, it is still a great time to celebrate this special day with family and friends.
